Vera won’t stop until fewer people are held behind bars, money doesn’t determine freedom, and everyone in the criminal legal and immigration systems is treated with dignity. In the past 60 years, we have:

• Expanded legal representation to those facing deportation and to immigrant families
• Advanced access to higher education for 20,000+ incarcerated people
• Fought to eliminate the cash bail system
• Worked to increase the use of civilian responders deployed to incidents involving mental health crises
