Tell HUD: Remove Barriers to Housing for People with Conviction Histories!

Housing is a human right. However, millions of people with conviction histories are excluded from safe and affordable housing because of their criminal record. These exclusions do not keep communities safe, and in fact contribute to increased housing insecurity, homelessness, and incarceration.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is proposing regulations to remove barriers to housing for people with conviction histories. The new regulations will ensure that a conviction history will not be an automatic disqualifier for its housing. HUD is seeking public comments as it considers these regulations to remove barriers to housing.

Submit your comments to HUD to highlight the importance of removing barriers to housing for people with conviction histories.

Your message will be delivered to HUD, and all information submitted may be available in the public record on Regulations.gov.
