Tell the LA County Board of Supervisors: Stop Jail Deaths, Invest in Care
The number of deaths in the notorious Men’s Central Jail (MCJ) is more than three times as much as in any other jail in Los Angeles County.
The majority of people who have lost their lives in MCJ since the start of 2023 were Black and Latino Angelenos who are in jail simply because they can’t afford bail.
It has been three years since the county Board of Supervisors promised decisive action to close MCJ without a replacement, but it has yet to adopt a clear plan and timeline for doing so.
Send a letter to tell the Board the time to plan is over and the time to act is now.
